Nitrates test kit
TYPE OF ANALYSIS: colorimetric
METHOD: 5-hydroxysalicylic acid
SENSITIVITY: 10 ppm NO3
MEASUREMENT RANGE: 10-20-40-60-80-100-120-140 ppm NO3
NUMBER OF DETERMINATIONS: 50
KIT CONTENT:
1x Nitrate A powder reagent bottle
2x 10cc tubes with cap
1x comparator
1x color scale
1x measuring spoon
- instructions
OBSERVATIONS:
In the field of water purification we often speak of "nitric nitrogen" (which corresponds to nitrates), "nitrous nitrogen" (which corresponds to nitrites), and "ammonia nitrogen" (which corresponds to ammonia), however in generally the concentrations are expressed as NO3 for nitrates, as NO2 for nitrites and as NH3 for ammonia.
IPT kits are ideal in cases where it is necessary to carry out a few analyzes, with discrete precision. For many analyzes and great precision we recommend HYDROCHECK, which also offer a lower cost per analysis.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Rinse the tubes thoroughly with the water to be analyzed.
2. Place the color scale on a well-lit flat surface (not in direct sunlight).
3. Enter 5 ml. of the water to be analyzed in both test tubes and insert one (blank test) into a hole in the comparator. Place the dial gauge on the color scale so that the colored fields are below the white test.
4. Add 1 level teaspoon of Nitrate reagent to the second tube. Cap it and shake vigorously for 1 minute.
5. Compare the colors from above by pushing the comparator back and forth until you find the most corresponding color, then read the relative concentration of Nitrates.
