Turbidex is a technological, advanced material, nothing to do with sand which is a rather poor material and works only mechanically. Turbidex ™ granules consist of a large surface area aluminosilicate mineral that provides exceptional filtration of suspended solids. The macro porous nature of Turbidex ™ allows filtration at levels below 5 microns in particle size. The rugged, highly porous surface of the Turbidex ™ makes the filtration mass perfect for any application where solids removal is essential. Turbidex is a filtering mass that very effectively replaces sand in clarifying filters.

Turbidex ™ is the latest generation of filter media. Traditional sands and masses have been satisfactory for some water treatments, but industries that need near-pure water, have required a substrate that not only filters below 5 microns, but saves time and money in applications and usability.

Hyper filtration efficiency

The degree of filtration increased by 7 - 10 times; with the turbidex we get to filter down to 5 microns, with the sand difficult to go below 40. (longer life of the systems downstream of the turbidex).

Higher ranges

With rated service flow up to 15 gpm / ft2 in pressure filters, Turbidex ™ offers significant savings in equipment costs compared to traditional masses. Turbidex ™ allows peak flow rates up to 20 gpm / ft2.

Superior clarity of water

Traditional sediment filtration masses are based on mechanical forcing to remove suspended solids, to reduce turbidity. The Turbidex ™ filter mass incorporates, tending thanks to ion exchange, sedimentation and flocculation for the production of crystalline water down to <0.1 NTU of turbidity.

The load capacity of Turbidex ™ is up to 1.5 times higher than various filter media and up to 2.8 times higher than sand filters (lower running costs).
